If I Were A Boy...

Ugh...I had a horrible day at Growing Room. I'll just have to push on through. I talked to Adam and that made me feel better.

But, I got the great news that I will be teaching Winter classes at the Springer! I'll be teaching a Shakespeare class with Jackson, and then possibly an acting class for 3rd-5th graders. That will make me very happy...plus, it will be a nice change from the craziness of Growing Room. Seriously.

Can't wait til the weekend.

Hello Employment!

I am now employed by Growing Room Inc.! I'm working part-time at their Aflac: Imagination Station 1 with their after-school program. I'm very excited to be working again, even if it is part-time. Orientation today was pretty intense. I was hit with so much information and guidelines to follow that I hope I don't crash and burn on my first day. I would hate to mess up procedure. Bah, scary!

I start officially on Monday and will work with them...indefinitely. I don't know if I would want to work with them full-time. We'll have to see after a few weeks, I guess.

The 5th of November...

When I woke up this morning, I felt rejuvenated. Barack Obama is the President-Elect, and in my opinion, the country is moving in the right direction. We're ready for this.

Then, thanks to Facebook, I saw how some of my friends are saying ignorant things. This is a time when America should be proud and united that we exercised our rights as Americans and voted and elected a new president. This result cannot be changed, so instead of saying nasty, bigoted remarks. What makes it even worse is that my family is part of this group. It saddens me, and frustrates me to no end. Let us embrace this day and work together for a better future. supposed to be the UNITED STATES OF AMERICA? Right?

But on a lighter note, I have an interview with Growing Room tomorrow at 9AM. I am very excited, and am crossing my fingers that I get this job. I can't just sit at home all day.

Here's hoping that tomorrow is a great day.

Things are buzzing...

Happy Election Day!

It is so exciting watching the results!

11:03PM
And now I can say.....OBAMA!!!!!

Hello unemployment! So good to see you!

That is right ladies and gentlemen, I am now once again, unemployed. Mmmm. Job hunting. Gotta love it.

Yes, Father of the Bride closed last night. It was a wonderful, highly entertaining run. And I must say, my biceps are looking pretty good. Damn Oriental Rug. I'll miss hanging out with the "2nd Act posse" as I, just now, nicknamed them. We had some good times hanging out upstairs in the studio, talking...but mostly watching hilariously stupid YouTube videos and making every day an Un-PC day in some form or fashion.

But last night while eating after strike (the food was exceptional btw), Jeff and I were talking about what I want to do next. In all honesty, leading a life like this is what I want. Acting and teaching at the Springer...and hopefully at other theaters elsewhere. I thought I would like settling down: finding a good solid teaching job at a high school, working there until I was old and gray. And now? That is a big N-O. What an awful existence! For me at least.

I am embracing change. Change is good. Moving around, experiencing life...I need to do more of this. YES YES YES.

Now if I could let go of this one thing that is bothering my heart....God how EMO was that?!?

10.22.08

I am very happy that we have a show tomorrow night. 4 days off is just too much! I thought I would enjoy the free time...but now, I don't know what to do!!

I'm restless...I NEED to be busy.

And I will be restless no more starting tomorrow. Friday will be extra fun too. Caroline, Theresa, Richard, and I are going up to Callaway Gardens to pick some pumpkins and have some Autumnfest fun!!!

Adventures have always been something that I love, but I have not really gone on an adventure since coming back from school. Adventures don't seem to be big down here. : (

So! Back to working tomorrow. Hooray!!

10.19.08

I have not been updating this blog like I should. Whoops.

Today was a good day, I think.

Mom and I went to church then had lunch at McAlister's. It was nice just sitting and talking with my mom about things: work, life, etc. She's pretty cool, I guess. : )

After that, it was time for some Mark Wahlberg!! Adam and I went to see Max Payne. The movie was okay. Adam has got me on a Mark Wahlberg kick. After the SNL skit "Mark Wahlberg talks to animals" and now this movie, it's all about Wahlberg. haha

After, we walked around the Crossing chit-chatting and look at shoes, books, and clothes. I must say that Marshall's had some pretty awesome stuff. And looking at clothes with Adam reaffirmed my love for men's wear and shopping for guys. So...if there are any men in need of a new wardrobe...hit me up...I'll take you shopping. : )

Anna came to visit for a little bit tonight. We talked about life and boys (what else is new?). I love knowing that I can always go to her advice or just to complain. ha. Sadly, she has to go back to UGA tomorrow morning b/c her assignment here in Columbus got pushed to this weekend. BUT...that means she can party with me over the weekend. So I'm okay with that.

Now, I have three days off from FOB...and I have no idea what to do. I fear that boredom is going to take over these three days. *sigh* I think I forgot what free time is like. haha.

On to tomorrow!

10.15.08

*sigh*

Finally, Father of the Bride opens tomorrow! I think most of us are ready for this show to open! Plus tomorrow is karaoke night at the Sports Page, and we are totally going. I have been waiting for this day for a long time. Since Winnie the Pooh started, I have wanted to go to karaoke with everyone. haha.

On another note...I am in need of an adventure.

That is all.

10.13.08

I GOT SOME KICK ASS AIR FORCE ONES TODAY.

Hooray for shopping trips to ATL on my day off.

Today was a GREAT day.

10.04.08

This week has been incredibly busy, but very very rewarding.

Winnie the Pooh has been going really well. Those school performances are killer, but I absolutely LOVE hearing the laughter from all those little children, plus them yelling TIGGER!! EEYORE!! POOH!!! etc etc is pretty funny as well.

We're almost done. Almost. Lots more school performances, lots more talk-backs, lots more sweat. haha.

But once Pooh is done, Father of the Bride opens. I am so thankful that I have a small part in FOB...it is a nice change from Pooh. Instead of being onstage for a whole show, I'm not seen until ACT 2. Awesome.

Time to sleep and prepare for tomorrow's show!

09.29.08

Winnie the Pooh opens on Wednesday!! I must say I'm very excited.  We've been running through the show, and I think we are ready for an audience. We are all showing signs of wear...but, we'll be ready.

But today is my day off. And I am loving it...even if it is only 10:30. ha.

I am in need of rest that doing nothing today sounds really great. I think I'm doing a good job so far. : )

09.22.08

Happy Fall everyone!!

This is my favorite time of the year, and I am soo glad that it's finally starting to feel like fall.

Winnie the Pooh rehearsals have been going amazingly well. We start techs next week which is crazy!! I cannot wait to open this show...the kids will love it.

This weekend is going to be fun too. I start classes this Saturday, and then I'm going to hang out with the Winnie the Pooh cast at a cabin on Lake Martin. Totes awes. haha.

Bring on this week!

09.16.08

I'm thinking this is a good time to update.

Sunday:

Winnie the Pooh rehearsals started and right from the get go things were absolutely wonderful. It is so wonderful to work with such a great cast...blocking the show in two days is not bad at all. Plus, everyone is so funny! Having done this show once before, I was very excited to see everyone else's take on the show. Everything feels so fresh and new! I'm loving every minute of it, even though by 8PM, I am DEAD TIRED.

I received my Father of the Bride script today! I am so glad because I have been wanting to read this play since Ron told me I was in it. Plus, my character, Red, seems pretty cool.

In other theatre related news, Pam Ware asked me to adjudicate for the ThesCon Acting IEs!! Hell yes! I hope that means more money. Workshop + IEs....I sure hope so!!

Now, the weather is starting to cool down....and Fall is hopefully approaching soon. Things are going well. It's nice, isn't it?

09.08.08

Blarg! September already. Exciting, exciting.

I am attempting to get myself on a different sleep pattern - going to bed early and waking up early. I'm trying to prepare myself for the coming weeks, and the two morning performances a day for Winnie the Pooh. Yet, it is not working. At all. My body likes that I go to bed around 3AM and wake up at 10/11AM. Boo.

Last week, I discovered the amazing world of BBC America. Ahhh, British television - Doctor Who, Top Gear, Ab Fab, Coupling. Lovely. The funny thing is - I've had that channel for over a year!! And I am just now watching it.

I had a photo shoot for Winnie the Pooh today with Adam, Ben, and Kern. Funny stuff. We looked pretty funny in our full body costumes. I can tell that I am going to be laughing a whole lot during rehearsals. It's going to be great.

08.31.08

I went on a nice walk this evening. I feel incredibly refreshed. It started to rain as I walked back home, and I loved every minute of it. Not until today did I realize my neighborhood was so pretty.  guess when you've lived in the same place for a long time you take it for granted.

While my good mood continues, I should get some lesson plans done.

08.29.08

Labor day weekend is upon us! I've always enjoyed this weekend because we always have a little family cookout, and its always delicious. Plus, labor day was always welcomed break from school. But now that I'm out of school, that last part doesn't matter. ha.

Today, I decided to make a calendar for the next 3 months with everything that I'm doing...and I can't wait for everything to get going!! Two more weeks!

I should actually be memorizing my lines right now...

08.27.08

My plane ticket to Ireland and my tour to Ireland have been reserved. I am very very excited, and cannot wait for November! I'm going with my aunt and my mom. On trips like these, they actually aren't bad company. We went to London together and we had a great time. Now that I'm a little older (we went to London when I was 18), I think we'll have an even better time. I have already been to Ireland, but I was only in Dublin for 3 days...now, I'm actually going around Dublin - to Killarney, Waterford, the Cliffs of Moher, Limerick. I get to take in the countryside as well as the city life of Dublin.

This trip comes at a great time. I'm here, right out of college, itching for adventure. I thought I knew what I wanted to do, but I'm not so sure any more.

My mom mentioned a potential job opening at a high school in Harris County, but I told her I didn't want to look into it. You might think I'm crazy for turning down a potential job and being secure financially. But I refused because I am very serious about teaching English in Japan next year. It's something that is going to be new and different, and very demanding. It will put me out of my comfort zone which is something that I need to experience. I need change.

I talked to Ron about that during our meeting a few weeks ago. He asked me if I really wanted to be a high school drama teacher. And I told him that I didn't. That's what I had been telling people since last year, that's what I was searching for at the end of my senior year at UE. But then, this summer, I came to the realization that that wasn't for me. Educational Outreach was for me. Children's Theatre was for me. Not high school.

Who knew I would figure that out after leaving school?

But now Winnie the Pooh gives me something to put my energy into, and Ireland will hopefully get me back on track.

08.24.08

*sigh*

The Beijing Olympics has now come to a close. The Closing Ceremonies were spectacular...much more casual than the Opening Ceremonies...but nonetheless, spectacular.

I can't help but feel sad about the Olympics ending. The past 16 days have been spent diligently watching and cheering on the USA team from swimming, track and field, gymnastics, to rowing. I think it's because these Olympics have been especially amazing from the events, to the venues, to hearing the heart warming stories of athletes, to my favorite, Mary Carillo and her ventures all around China.

At least I have things to look forward to like Winnie the Pooh and IRELAND.

08.23.08

It was nice to stay in today. When it's pouring down rain, I guess that's really the only thing you can do. The constant pitter patter of the rain was very relaxing. I don't know I felt refreshed. Maybe because I know that Pooh rehearsals will start soon, and that the trip to Ireland is a few months away.

But, we lost power for 3 hours! Who knew it would be soo agonizing! I pulled out my playing cards and played card games with my mom and dad - that was fun. I didnt' realize how quickly boredom seeped in. I am that dependent on my tv and my computer, and anything requiring electricity. Maybe that is something I need to work on changing.

As of right now...it is so nice to have the air conditioning back on...it was getting a little stuffy in my room.

Friday, August 22, 2008

08.22.08

I received such wonderful news today! Ron called me and asked me if I would reprise my role as Winnie the Pooh this fall for the Children's Theatre season!!! But of course, I said yes! Pooh is probably one of my favorite characters I have ever played...I think it's because I love the energy of being in a Children's Theatre show. Another good thing about this gig...I get paid! haha.

Who knew I would be acting again? I kinda like it. And it'll keep me nice and busy.

Nice and busy until November...because Tita, my mom, and I are planning a trip to Ireland!! November 29 - December 6. We were talking about it last night...and I think we are going to go through with it. I think a trip like this is just what I needed as I work toward Japan. heh.

Things are starting to work themselves out. I've been waiting for this since Academy ended. About time.

08.19.08

So officially, I will be teaching a workshop at Georgia Thespian Conference!!! I am so excited! I remember going to Conference and going to workshops, but now I get to actually teach one. It's like I've come full circle. : ) That's in February though, so I have a few months to prepare.

But something that is coming around the corner is Winnie the Pooh auditions at the Springer. Yup, they're doing it again, and Ron wants me to audition for it. It would be really fun to play Pooh again, or just to be in the show! It's such a high energy, fun children's theatre show.

And then, Tita and I are planning a trip to NYC in December around Christmas time. We're hoping to see the Rockettes! I've never been to NYC in December, and I bet its divine!

And Japan is a definite go. The application process begins in September, and I have already started working on gathering all my things for the application. I even bought a Japan travel book to read through. I definitely think this is the best thing for me. Who knows I might even stay there longer than a year.

But I should really try to find a job in the meantime...I need a little extra money. haha.

08.16.08

Michael Phelps has done it. He has won eight gold medals in ONE Olympics. Congrats to him. His hard work has definitely paid off.

Even though I am soo stoked for Michael Phelps, everyone on that relay team was great. Aaron Piersol always does soo well. And I was very impressed with Brendan Hansen during this race...he did a wonderful job. Way to pull through. And Jason Lezak...that man is a beast and once again, took the US home to victory!!

Another great showing at the Olympics!!!

08.15.08

As my last post clearly stated...Michael Phelps does it again. And what a race it was. Another close finish, another gold. It wasn't until tonight that I realized that swimming is an amazing sport. I have so much respect for all those athletes. They work so hard. Michael Phelps is definitely a great example. When Bob Costas interviewed Michael and Mark Spitz at the same time, I was actually pretty emotional. haha.
Am I lame? Maybe. But I think that's what makes the Olympics so great. It's a time where we put everything aside and root for our country. And to hear Mark Spitz praising Michael and rooting for him is pretty neat.

People are probably pretty tired of my Olympics craziness. I am pretty hyped about these games...and Michael Phelps...of course. He's great to watch. : )

Oh well...one more week.

Friday, August 15, 2008

HE DID IT!

PHELPS DID IT! He's tied with Mark Spitz, getting 7 gold medals in one Olympics!!!!!!!!

AWESOME.

08.13.08

Tomorrow will be a busy day. Two interviews: 1) A phone interview at 10AM with Northern Stage in Vermont, 2) A meeting with Ron at the Springer at 11:30AM. Both for potential jobs.

I'm crossing my fingers. It would be really nice to work at the Springer. I think it'd be pretty cool.

And tomorrow, I will also be getting a goldfish. hahaha. It'll be cute. And I will name him Rufus.

Okay, more Olympics to watch. It's the Men's All-Around Final in Gymnastics! No medal race for Phelps tonight. But that's okay. Just seeing him swim is amazing. : )

Monday, August 11, 2008

08.10.08

The Olympics just keep getting better and better. If you were watching the Men's 4x100m relay, you know exactly what I'm talking about. That was the best swimming relay race I have ever seen. I was out of my seat yelling at the tv rooting for the US! And once again, they pull through getting the gold medal and making France eat their words. "Smash the Americans" - oh please. ; )

And Phelps gets another gold medal. YES! I love him. haha.

I'm awaiting those other theatre companies to call me...and I am crossing my fingers that the opportunity to teach english in China will become a reality. How awesome that would be!

Still watching the Olympics on CNBC. I'm crazy.

Saturday, August 9, 2008

08.09.08

So apparently, I forget my grammar rules when I am watching something so great like the Opening Ceremonies. Oops.

HOORAY MICHAEL PHELPS!! Another gold medal. : )

Yes, when the Olympics role around I am a hardcore follower of swimming and gymnastics. Diving and beach volleyball are cool too.

On to more watching. haha.

Amazing

The Opening Ceremonies of the Beijing 2008 Olympics was without a doubt one of the best and emotional Opening Ceremonies I have ever seen.

It was filled with such power, spirit, and perfection. The Chinese definitely went all out and did magnificent job. And to see all those countries enter during the Parade of Nations was awe-inspiring: especially when seeing participants from those countries struck by major hardships. It hit an emotional high (at least for me) was to see Lin Hao, the 9 year old survivor of the earthquake in the Sichuan province, walking along side Yao Ming. He was so happy. Lin was one of three who survived from his class. After digging himself out of the rubble, he then went back to the school site to look for survivors. They found two others. When asked "Why?" he responded, "Because I was a class leader and a hall monitor, I have to." What courage! It was a great moment. I definitely shed some tears.

The lighting of the Olympic torch. Wow. It never fails to impress me. Absolutely amazing.

After seeing this ceremony, I am in awe of how much work it took to transform Beijing. The Chinese must be so proud. I definitely have learned so much about them after these 4 hours sitting in front of the television.

And that is why I love the Olympics. It brings out so much pride, and emotion, and unity from every single country! It's gonna be a great one.

OLYMPICS!

08.08.08 at 8PM. Yes sir. The Beijing Summer Olympic Games are upon us. I am so pumped! Ever since I was little I have loved the Olympics, probably because of the Opening Ceremonies. There's so much spectacle surrounding it, and I love spectacle. I also enjoy seeing how a city transforms itself for the games. I think Beijing has done a fabulous job...I mean have you seen "The Birds nest"? It's amazing. I will be glued to my seat tomorrow. haha.

So after much thought. I am definitely considering teaching English in Asia. I am not sure if I will do it right now at this moment because I think I'd be cutting it close. A program I have been looking at is the JET program. I would be teaching English in Japan. I've always wanted to learn Japanese...and I think this would be tons of fun. It's a lot of work...the application process alone is a daunting task. But I think I can get it done. And seeing as the theatre companies I've applied to are rather slow at responding, I think I should do this.

My mom, dad, and Tita are really supportive of this...which is always a plus. I am actually surprised at the amount of support I am receiving. It's really great to hear them say "YES! You should definitely go" and "It would be a great adventure!" so on and so on. It's definitely reassuring.

I guess I should get started!

Is it really August??

Hello everyone. Boy has it been a while. The fact that it is already August is so crazy to me. Part of me thinks I need to get ready for the typical move back to school. But now, I just get alumni stuff in the mail.

I don't feel like an adult yet. Probably because I don't have a job yet. Basically that's what the summer has been. Working and having a blast at the Springer Opera House at the Academy...and applying and interviewing all over the place. I just wish I knew something definite. It is so frustrating not knowing and being in limbo. Many of my other classmates are off getting ready to start their lives in graduate school or at their jobs...and I'm envious. I want that. And I want it now.

But I must be patient. That's something I continually tell myself. Patience. Things will fall into place soon.

As I wait - patiently of course - I feel like I need a hobby or something to help me occupy my time...when I'm not looking for a job. If you have any fun, creative ideas, let me know. I would love it.

Something that I know will help ease my restlessness and boredom is the Beijing Olympics!!!!! I am so very excited for them. Of course, my favorite sport to watch is swimming. Michael Phelps. Duh. I can't wait.

And speaking of Beijing, I am currently really, really, really interested in Asia. After visiting the Philippines - twice in a summer - I have wanted to explore more of Asia and Southeast Asia. I was given a glimpse of Hong Kong when my dad and I spent the night in a hotel near the airport. Oh it was such a tease! Now, that's all that I want to do...explore Asia. Tita said she'd take me to Hong Kong...maybe this summer. We shall see.

I've actually looked into teaching English in Asia...China mainly. I'm also looking into teaching English in the Philippines, that way, I'll be near my family. So many options.

Well. I'll take it one day at a time.

Surprise!

Happy (early) Birthday to ME!!!!

Dad got me an ITouch today, which was pretty awesome. I love early birthday presents. : )

Thursday, June 12, 2008

Friday is glorious!!

The Springer Staff Cookout was AWESOME!! I had so much fun with everyone. And how knew the game LIFE was soo intense. haha.

Tomorrow is going be a fabulous day!!! YAY!!!!

Monday, June 9, 2008

life is busy...and wonderful!

1. My best friend in the whole wild world, Mr. J. Heath Tucker, is visiting me this weekend. He'll be here Friday to Sunday. That means that there should be parties, hanging out at bars, and possibly karaoke going on this weekend. Okay?

2. Anna and I are going to Six Flags next week!!! It's about time. I have been wanting to go to Six Flags since summer started.

3. I am heading up to Athens June 27-29 to go see the Rose of Athen's Theatre's production of "A Midsummer Nights Dream." Adam is in it, so I'm going up to visit him and see him in the show! Plus, it's my birthday weekend...so I will be partying hard up there. : )

4. I really really really can't wait for the movie WANTED to come out. It looks awesome.

5. I am completely smitten. That's all. : )

Saturday, May 31, 2008

Graduation! No...not mine.

I was so glad I got to go to Northside's graduation!

It was nice to be on the other side for a change. haha. My heartfelt congratulations goes out to all of them, and best of luck!!! They're big kids now.

And speaking of big kids, I'm hoping to become an even bigger kid and move to New York City. I'm currently looking into internships at the Roundabout and at the MCC Theater. I would really love to work at the MCC Theater because Neil LaBute is their resident playwright! How cool is that?!?! I'm currently reading his play Some Girls, so that's why I'm so excited.

Springer starts on Monday. I'm super excited....and nervous because I have to teach the first two days of class...MYSELF. Eeep.

So I'm contemplating going to Six Flags sometime in June...maybe for my birthday...or maybe as part of my birthday celebration! haha. If you wanna come, you should let me know. : )

Totally excited...

I cannot wait until next season's LOST.

Season 4's finale was awesome. I hope everyone got to watch it. I won't divulge anything here and spoil it. If you haven't watched it, go to abc.com RIGHT NOW!

: )

Tuesday, May 20, 2008

so i haven't really updated in a while...

So, it's been about 2 weeks since being home, and my room is finally looking good. haha.

And Springer starts in 2 weeks, so I'm super excited! It'll be nice to start working at making some money.

I just wish I knew about the position at Dublin High. : ( But there's a part of me that is okay with not getting that position. I really want a break, and I'm looking into year long internships...hopefully, one in New York. We'll see.

Okay, I'm out.

Sunday, May 11, 2008

this is it.

So. I am now a graduate from the University of Evansville with a Bachelor of Science in Theatre Education.

And yes it will be one of those posts...

I am still running through my mind that question - how the hell did time fly by so fast?

I don't think it hit me until late this evening as I was finishing up my packing and cleaning the rest of the apartment. Seeing my empty room and the bare apartment was not fun.

Saying goodbye wasn't fun either. It's during those goodbyes that you realize that you have spent 4 years with some of the best people in the world. I couldn't ask for a better class. They are truly amazing.

So thank you for some great times Evansville. I have a feeling that I will be back to party it up. Bike Race? Who knows.

Saturday, May 3, 2008

ahhh!

Aghhh! Voice recital tomorrow!

then...

Senior Wills!!!

Thursday, May 1, 2008

SENIOR SEM = DONE

I am so tired.

Today's episode of LOST was not exciting. Lame.

Probably going to sleep.

Monday, April 28, 2008

it's over...

Dark of the Moon's last show was this afternoon. It was sad..I did get a little teary. The performance was pretty great. They were definitely on top of their game.  : )

Then it was STRIKE. All of us seniors said our favorite line from a show tonight...Matt's was probably the best. We had some pretty good ones over the years.

I should really be doing my work, but instead Heath and I went to Memphis to play Super Smash Brothers, and now we're playing Mario Cart.

Will I ever learn?

Sunday, April 27, 2008

maybe i'm crazy...

Crazy night. Again.

It's time to do work today. SERIOUSLY.

Saturday, April 26, 2008

I fly like paper, get high like planes...

Last night was crazy awesome.

I love when boring nights turn into amazingness.

Thursday, April 24, 2008

so the whole facebook chat thing is pretty addicting. its sad to say...but i love it.

pick up rehearsal was fun tonight.

woooooo.

Wednesday, April 23, 2008

winding down...

So many things to do, and so little time.

I graduate in 2 weeks.

If you are in GA, we should hang out. : )

Friday, April 18, 2008

an earthquake on opening?!?

An earthquake in Indiana?!?

Yup. Early this morning. I definitely woke up with one of those WTF moments, then promptly went back to sleep. ha.

But more importantly it's OPENING OF DARK OF THE MOON! yay!!!

The parents will be in town at 4PM, we'll eat dinner, see the show, go to the formal opening night party, then the after party!

Then the biggest event of the year....if you want to call me tomorrow, and I mean you should, it'll be pretty hilarious I'm sure. ; )

Thursday, April 17, 2008

another beautiful day.

I'm sleepy, sitting in this warm room listening to a psychology lecture.

It's gorgeous once again. It's sunny and warm, and I wish I could be laying out in the sun all day.

Luckily, I don't have Directing, so I can get things done for Friday and Saturday. Or take a nap. haha.

Oh what a drunken mess we will all be on Saturday. I'm excited.

I want a new dress.

Final dress tonight! Eeeeeee.

Wednesday, April 16, 2008

Sunny

Today is beautiful....and it's FIRST DRESS! AHHHHH!

Happy COMO!

Ahhh Company Monday. The day that starts Tech Week for DOTM. It wasn't that bad today actually. I spent the first hour with Lank helping him record something for his daughter, and then I worked in the costume shop sewing buttons and ironing things. Pretty easy.

But tech rehearsal tonight proved to be a trial for me. The last time I was involved with tech week and tech rehearsals was freshman year - Jane Eyre and Our Town. Forever ago!! It was definitely a little long, and sometimes frustrating just because of the fact that I was really antsy tonight.

It ended at 10:45PM which was surprisingly early - at least to me.

And thankfully, I really don't have any work that I need to do; so my nights are free which is nice because I brought some new movies back with me from home. : )

My schedule for this week:

Monday - COMO and tech rehearsal

Tuesday - Class 11:00 - 5:30PM. 6:00 PM - Tech rehearsal.

Wednesday - Class 11:00 - 4:00PM. 6:00 PM - 1st Dress rehearsal.

Thursday - Class 12:00 - 5:30PM. 6:00PM - 2nd Dress rehearsal.

Friday - Class 1:00 - 4:00PM. OPENING NIGHT!!!!!

Saturday - BIKE RACE and 80's Party!!!!!!!!!

It's going to be a great week.

georgia on my mind...

So I'm lying in my bed in lovely Columbus, GA waiting for my laundry to finish drying.

The drive was hella long today, but it was beautiful the whole way down...minus IN and KY. heh.

But, I did get my Senior Sem paper finished and turned in. : ) My shoulders are so light now. And I can enjoy this weekend.

I really should be going to bed though, 'cause I have another day of driving. 3 hours from here to Dublin, then my interview, then driving to Warner Robins. But, I do get to party when I get to WR. That'll be nice.

And it's nice not to be at the school, especially after the fiasco that was last weekend. haha.

Night.

Thursday, April 10, 2008

ready to get away...

Leaving for Georgia at 12:30PM tomorrow.

Brewer told me I can email my paper in on Friday. : ) That means I can work on it some tonight (I guess) and then work on it Thursday night at home...which is most likely what I'll end up doing. I'm okay with that.

Though my paper will be complete shit when I turn it in. I can already tell.

I'll be back to the 'ville in time for rehearsal on Sunday.

Tuesday, April 8, 2008

well well...

I do not regret anything that I have done.
But I just hate the feeling that everyone is judging me because of it.
It is something I cannot undo, so if we just move on and know that I have learned from it, that would be great.
It's like I have this cloud hanging over my head, and I really hate it.
So quit shaking your head and showing me your disappointed, and just continue on with life. Please.

I do not regret anything. Things happen. And I am fully content with my life right now. The End.

Saturday, April 5, 2008

last night...

It was definitely interesting...

And boy am I tired today. Going to bed at 4AM is not good. haha. Today will probably be filled with nothing, although I really should work on my Senior Sem paper and Arts Marketing homework...

BLAH.

There is a glimmer of hope! The Crash is hosting a Roller Disco Party tonight. I need to go buy some leggings. : )

Rain.

I guess it's definitely April considering it's been raining for a good chunk of the week.

I still cannot believe it's already April. The show opens in three weeks. My thesis paper (draft 1) is due next week. I have a job interview in Dublin, GA next week. And I GRADUATE in 5 weeks.

Where did my time go?

It's exciting and scary to hear all of us talking about what we'll be doing after graduation. People going to grad school, moving to NYC, moving to LA. AHHH.

I have to be a full-fledged adult soon. meep.

But first...what to eat for breakfast?

Monday, March 31, 2008

if only this day would end...

I will own you work. Bring it on.

Too much food!

Waking up today was a little bit of an ordeal today. After a night like last night...I definitely did not want to wake up at 10AM.

But, lunch with my theatre family was fabulous. Mrs. Begley gave me some lovely plates from Pier One for a graduation present. : ) We are at Ri Ra's which was absolutely delicious. Maggie, Alex, Andrew, and I ate sooooo much. I think I'm still full.

That took two hours, then it was off to the dorms to hang out and reminisce about Saints to Sinners. It was also a time to notice that I had a HUGE hickie on my neck...that I didn't know about until Ray said "Johanna, is that a hickie on your neck??" So I definitely had lunch with my theatre family sporting a nice, big hickie. Awesome.

And...I definitely don't remember who gave it to me. Well...now that I think about it, I think I have an idea. hah.

So yeah. Not an extremely productive day, but that's okay. I had some wine tonight, and I may turn in early for the night. I need that, considering I have a shit ton of work to do.

Lata.

wow

Wow. Saints to Sinners was great. I really should pass out now though.

haha.

I am so excited.

Saturday night is going to be AMAZING.

Easter Time!

Easter time is great. It signifies that Spring is really here. Well...almost here in Evansville. It was extremely cold today. Brrr. The sun did shine for a little, though.

Although that didn't stop us from having a roaring good time at the Steenberg's Easter Lunch. Good food. Good company. Pretty clothes. Basketball on the telly. Football in the backyard. Skipping stones by the lake.

As Sara said, we could have been in a Ralph Lauren ad! I mean, we are all pretty hot...so I would say that's pretty accurate. : )

AND Mattie took a picture of me today...which I think could possibly be the best picture ever taken of me. hahaha. Here it is:

After a wonderful afternoon, I find myself sitting in my room trying to do some work. Even though that has proven unsuccessful. Lame.

I really like the band Blonde Redhead. Really like them. I've been listening to them all day.

Okay. I should maybe study for Psychology. Before that I'll post a video!

nashvegas

Went to Nashvegas with Marisa.

Got accosted by a man trying to get money for gas.

Went to a ghetto farmer's market.

Ate at Rainforest Cafe.

Did some shopping.

Bought some hot dresses.

Came back.

Went to Jana and Ashley's surprise birthday party.

Watched Forrest Gump and hung out with Sam Rod, Josh (her bro), and Marisa.

Came home.

Ate some food.

Cleaned my room.

Wrote this blog entry.

Steenburg Easter Brunch tomorrow at 2PM. Yessssssss.

Friday, March 21, 2008

and so it begins...

Happy Easter Break!

I think I'm starting this break on a good note...I'm hungover. hahaha. Last night was pretty fun. It's amazing how many of us are here for break. But that's cool though, that means we can all hang out and be together!

Tomorrow is going to be fun. Marisa and I are planning on going to Nashville tomorrow for some shopping. I think it'll be nice little day trip.

But I must work today!!!

high school musical on ice!

Yes, High School Musical On Ice is coming to Evansville in April. And yes, I am planning on going. It will be amazing. I know you're jealous.

Saints to Sinners had to be moved because of Company strike. *sigh* I have to wait a week...ahhhh. Meh, it's really okay. It is the biggest party of the year. AND it is my senior year, so everyone best be there ready to go ALL OUT. 'Cause I will be.

Still haven't received any news from Mr. Scott if I'm interviewing and touring Dublin High School. If I get a yes, I'll be down there this weekend. If not, I'll be staying in Evansville, which is fine. Hopefully it won't rain anymore. Because I do not like feeling like Moses parting the Red Sea trying to go to Senior Sem.

Okay...so I found a new video that I LOVE. It's complete with James Franco and his younger brother Dave. Yay here it is!

Wednesday, March 19, 2008

Eat that Senior Sem!

Part One of my Senior Sem paper is complete!! Success! It makes me really happy that I didn't have to do an all-nighter. I was scared.

And it's almost the weekend. How wonderful.

: )

procrastination is my friend!

Hello friends! And welcome to Johanna's: "I'm avoiding all my work for my Senior Sem Paper" blog!

It's amazing how many of us haven't really started on this Senior Sem thing. I think we're fed up with it. Plus, I'm up to my eyeballs in research. It's very uncomfortable. I predict a long night tomorrow complete with a trip to IHOP. Yes. I've started on my exploratory essay...I guess that's good right?

Dark of the Moon rehearsal was quite enjoyable today. There was lots of laughing and all around merriment. Plus we accomplished lots. I hope tomorrow is more of the same. But it is too bad we have rehearsal on Thursday because....

HILLARY WILL BE IN EVANSVILLE! Exciting, huh? She's having a rally...and I can't go. Booo.

Oh, and Happy St. Patrick's Day. I mean, I have to mention that don't I? Hope everyone indulged and had green beer. ha. I resisted the temptation to be ridiculously drunk...you know...rehearsal...work. *sigh* Would have been nice though. Keystone Light currently dominates the bottom shelf in my fridge...would be nice to get rid of it. Thursday. I'll do that Thursday.

Exploratory essay! Onward ho!

Deuces.

It's good to be back...

Spring time - Thank you for coming to Evansville. It was about time...even if you did decide to bring some rain. That's okay.

And spring time has brought me out of my funk. I think I am completely, 100%, body and mind back at UE. It just had to take 2 months. sheesh. It feels nice. : )

Easter Break is approaching. I need to find an Easter dress!! Ahh!

What else is there to say other than...Peace out.

Friday, March 14, 2008

It has been a few days...

That's because I have been trying to organize my life. Spring Break was absolutely lovely. But returning to UE meant returning to a work load that is CUH-RAZY.

Dark of the Moon rehearsals have been really great. The show is going to be huge. : ) Come see it!! April 18, 19, 20, 24, 25, 26, 27. 8PM and 2PM on Sundays. I'm really really excited.

What I'm not excited about is....

My Senior Seminar Thesis Paper. Hooray! Part One is due NEXT WEEK. And how about we were given the information on the paper...umm...a few days before SPRING BREAK. Not cool. Not cool.

Alas, my weekend is full of homework, rehearsal, homework, rehearsal, homework, etc.

Don't worry though...I made time for some St. Patrick's Day celebrations. Saturday night. IT'S ON. Meaning, that Sunday morning is probably going to be a rough morning. haha.

Alright, I'm out. To organize my life some more.

P.S. If you haven't played Super Smash Brothers Brawl for Wii yet. DO IT. It's awesome.

Monday, March 10, 2008

i'm back bitches.

That's right.

I'm back in Evansville. I fucking hate this town. Snow? Really? In March?

I'm so ready to graduate.

Grrrrrrrrr.

Saturday, March 8, 2008

heading north.

I leave for Evansville tomorrow morning. Am I ready to leave?

No. : (

Bracing myself for the cold again...

Friday, March 7, 2008

hotlanta.

I went to hotlanta today, though no success shopping wise. I know surprising, huh? I usually come back from Atlanta with bags and bags.

I think that's progress.

Tomorrow is Saturday. WTF. How did this week go by so fast? I am definitely not ready to go back. I am not done...relaxing. Or rather, not doing anything. ha.

I'm out. Peace.

Wednesday, March 5, 2008

Oh what a beautiful morning!

Today was FIERCE. Don't laugh at me, I did just watch Christian win Season 4 of Project Runway (if you haven't watched it yet...why not? they're repeating it right now on BRAVO!) His collection was absolutely to die for. Loved every bit of it. Yay!

Today was great though. I drove down to Warner Robins to visit the school and looking into some teaching prospects. Currently, things are going okay with that. I'll have to wait until April for definite confirmation on interviews, etc. But I got to hang out at Northside, and I must say that I really did miss the school and classroom atmosphere. Being in the classroom watching show choir made me smile. I would rather be teaching than be in class. Really. Give me my diploma and my damn teaching license already!!!

They posted the cast list for Oklahoma today. That's going to be one hell of a show...the cast is HUGE. And congratulations to all my babies making the show! You know who you are. : )

What else?

Oh, Tyler scared the shit out of me when I was trying to leave the school at 4PM. Seriously, I was so scared. I cursed, hit him, then hugged him, and that was that. ha! He said I almost ran over his foot...which is a possibility. haha.

Jenny and I ate at Cheddars and played catch-up which was nice. I miss having her to talk to everyday after class.

Wish I could have stayed longer...honestly, I really just want to come back one time and go to the Tick Tock Room and drink some martinis...and party. Because I miss doing that - the few times that I did. But I seem to never have time. Blegh.

I'm out y'all. Busy day tomorrow. Holla.

I don't normally do this but...

YAY HILLARY!

I was scared for a moment. But now we're good, we're good.

And that's all I have to say about that...

Tuesday, March 4, 2008

You know, just hanging out...watching The Office

Why does The Office make me so happy? I don't know...maybe because it's so totally awesome.

That's right so totally awesome.

I will be heading down to Warner Robins tomorrow around lunch time. I'll only be there for the day, but if you're not doing anything, and you're in the area call me. From 1ish to 3:00PM, I will be at Northside...so if you're at Northside, come see me in the black box. : )

I just bought Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close, which I am very excited to start reading. Yay!

Okay off to watch more of The Office. heh.

Monday, March 3, 2008

I like to watch movies...

I forgot how amazing my bed is. I mean, it is a HUGE day bed how could it not be amazing?

Anyways...

There really isn't much to say other than the fact that I am using this week to watch all the movies I've been wanting to watch. Although, I did watch Once again...Oh, I love it so.

I have been trying to map out my week. At some point I know I'll hit up Warner Robins for a day, and Atlanta for a day...or two? I really just want to go shopping....for new spring clothes. : )

So, I'm super jealous of my cousin Anna who is leaving for Paris with her parents on the 7th. Paris? What I would give to go back there! I miss speaking French to....French people. ha. Now, that I think about it, I really should have made that my minor. Alas.

Does anyone have any book recommendations? I want something good to read over break. I know I haven't read Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close by Jonathan Safran Foer, maybe that? Charles Bukowski maybe?

So let me know. And I'll put it on my list.

Lata.

Welcome Home!

I am currently sitting in my living room watching TV....AT HOME! It's great!

It is also a lovely 73 degrees in Columbus, Georgia. Driving down to Georgia today, it was so refreshing to see sun and smell fresh air. ha. And I didnt' feel at all sleepy during the drive even after last night. hehe.

Now...time to relax and eat dinner. yay.

happy spring break!!!

I have a special guest tonight. And it's STEVEN!!!

We are just sitting in my living room listening to the Wii sports music. We just discovered how soothing it is. Yay.

It's been a pretty good night, besides my "I can't find my wallet" incident. Luckily, it was underneath the passenger seat in my car! Maybe it was because of the fact, that I am currently not in the best state of mind. I mean...

We're having fun though!!! Although, I should be going to bed now. 3,2,1 GO!

That's a lie.

Okay, I can't type anymore 'cause I'm going to spell everything wrong. BYE!

Friday, February 29, 2008

Leap year!!!

I am so surprised that I am still up! Maybe it was because of Dollar Beer. hah.

My directing scene is shaping up nicely. We finally got into the space today, and it felt really good. I think we were all frustrated because we had to be rehearsing in classrooms rather than the actual performance space. I'm excited. We're having a special rehearsal/meeting tomorrow at my apartment. It will be a good time. : )

This break couldn't have come at a better time. I'm in need of it. I need to get away and go home and buy sweet tea from my favorite local restaurant. YUM. I want to drive around the streets that I know so well. I want to be warm.

So today at 4PM, there will be much rejoicing!

I should sleep though. I'm gonna be TIRED tomorrow.

Wednesday, February 27, 2008

Is it Friday yet?

I am utterly exhausted from yesterday's trip to Indianapolis to see The Piano Lesson. That is not my favorite August Wilson play, but I think that the cast did a good job. The ending...meh. But overall, not bad.

We watched the movie "Once" on the ride to Indy. It was my first time seeing it, and it was wonderful. I am in love with that movie and the music. I'm going to be singing "Falling Slowly" all the time...I mean, I already do....

If you haven't seen it, go and rent it or buy it. Just buy it. I know you'll like it.

I was fancy and ate at P.F. Chang's with Donald and Kelli. Yup, that's right, I dropped a little less than $30 on that meal. I mean...I did get a "Bomb Pop Martini" which was DELICIOUS. AND a mini dessert. heh.

The ride home was awful. We finished watching Superbad, I tried studying for my Environmental Science test (which was today and not too bad), and the heat was on high, so I was super hot and uncomfortable. We arrived at 1:15 AM to snow covered streets and cold cold cold.

Now, I have nothing to do tonight. I just got back from my Directing I rehearsal for Kassie's scene...and I'm not doing my homework for Friday until Thursday night.

Maybe I'll sleep or watch tv. Or hang out with people.

Monday, February 25, 2008

And the Oscar goes to....

Hooray for the 80th Annual Academy Awards! One of my most favorite nights on television. I hope you were able to witness the loveliness that is the Oscars tonight, and I hope you all did well on your ballots. That is if you filled one out? You did fill one out? If not...I'm disappointed. It was sadly a bad year for me. When it came to the technical awards, I blew it. I must do better next time. I give my sincere congratulations especially to Marion Cotillard, Diablo Cody, and everyone who worked on "No Country For Old Men."

I talk about them like I know them. Haha.

But seriously, this year was a good year in film, I think. Can't wait for next year. I've got to hit up the movie theatres again. Maybe a triple feature soon? That would be amazing.

Now that the Oscars are done, all I have to do is make it through this week. Then HOME. Will you be in the Columbus, Warner Robins, Macon area next week? If so call me to hang out. If I know you, you should know my number. ; )

Back to my Environmental Science study guide....

Sunday, February 24, 2008

That Scoundrel Scapin!

I finally got to watch Scapin tonight. It was lovely. I have always loved Commedia and farce, and I'm really glad that UET decided to do this show. It also reminded me of how much I love movement and the art of physical comedy. I think it is absolutely brilliant. I just wish I had more training in movement...I should find some workshops or something like that to do over my summer.

Tonight was much tamer than last night. Thank God. I don't think I could handle another crazy night. It was nice just to have a beer or two and just hang out at Maui. Relaxing. And I do not have a craving for Taco Bell like last night.

I have designated tomorrow as "Get off your ass and work day!" I will force myself to be productive, and I will get things done!! : )

Off to bed! Here's a video!

Saturday, February 23, 2008

So much funny!

Wow is all I can say about last night's Oscar party at Maui. I believe it was a huge success. The cops coming by twice and the underclassmen running to hide = GREAT NIGHT.

I was actually really surprised at the amount of people who showed up. For one, the party didn't start until 11PM, AND it started snowing outside. But we were all nice and warm in the house dancing and boozing it up. This afternoon Steven, Mattie, Ray, Kelli, and I recounted the night...it was pretty funny. Or as Mattie said last night "So much funny!"

In other news, I have one more week until I'm back in Georgia. I'm excited. We also have the Simpson Trip to Indy on Tuesday to see The Piano Lesson. Hope it's good.

I think my Directing II scene is going okay. We haven't had many rehearsals because of Scapin and scheduling problems, but I think I have a good cast, and we're going to be fine. I just haven't found my groove yet. I'll get there. I know I will.

I think I just want break to come. I'm over school. I shouldn't be, but I am.

No video today. Watch the Powerthirst video again. I still think its hilarious.

Thursday, February 21, 2008

Snow day...again.

We have a snow day...again. Really it should be an ice day...because that's what it is. No snow. Just ice.

And I've been doing nothing allllll day. : )

Being Alive!

I hope everyone had the chance to watch Company on PBS tonight. It was good. At least I enjoyed it. Besides, I love Raul Esparza so that's all the matters. : ) I swear I melted, or turned to jelly, or something when he sang "Being Alive." *sigh* Lovely.

I came to the realization today that I do not have any theatre classes on Friday, meaning I only have Environmental Science at 1PM. How glorious is that? I am VERY excited to sleep in. And maybe do something fun on a Thursday night! Now that's a first considering I am act like a nerd and work work work, and I don't do anything fun on week days. Here's my chance! ha.

Speaking of things that are fun. One of our theatre houses is holding an "Oscar Party" on Friday. That means dressing up in our fancy dresses, drinking, and dancing. But that also means the Oscars are on Sunday!!! Print out your ballots, I know I will!!

Now, if Spring Break could just get here....

Okay video time. I don't remember if I've put this one up. If I did, sorry. It's that good.

Wednesday, February 20, 2008

I'm not used to staying up late anymore...

I am thoroughly enjoying the fact that there is no more snow on the ground. It makes driving to campus so much easier! Who would have thought?!?

Dark of the Moon officially started yesterday with our first read-through! I'm very excited to be working on this show, the last show of the mainstage season, and the last mainstage show of my college career. I suggest everyone coming to see it because it will be amazing. I mean, you should see the scene design scale model...WOW.

Music rehearsals were tonight. I didn't realize Caleb was soo musically inclined. He's been arranging all the songs for the show. I wish I was like that. My knowledge of music theory is incredibly slim...which I am kinda sad about. If I am seriously considering being Music Certified during my high school teaching career, I should maybe get better at theory...hrmmmm.

I have one good quote from Psychology today. Dr. Felton was discussing x-rays, radiation, MRIs, and pregnancy. Well, he said, "You know, they have to put that big, heavy, lead apron to protect your gonads." Gonads? Really? He makes me laugh sometimes.

So, I have been trying something lately. I've been trying to stay up late...to get myself back into the college groove. Also, there may be an all-nighter approaching now that DOTM rehearsals have started. I mean everyone else I know stays up until 4AM. But! I can't do it. I can't! I get tired by 11PM. It's 1AM now...and my eyes don't want to stay open. I am officially OLD.

With that I leave you. But I do have a video!!! I've known about this one for a while, I just haven't put it up. I love the documentary Planet Earth...a lot. So I thought this was funny...

Sunday, February 17, 2008

BACK!

Well hello!!

I just got back to Evansville from my wonderful wonderful wonderful weekend in Warner Robins!!

All Shook Up was AMAZING. The kids were absolutely fabulous. It was so nice to go and see the show and be super excited because I didn't help with this show. Friday night I went with Trey, Jonathan, and Jenny's parents. Then, I went again on Saturday. : )

I'm too tired to elaborate. So...I'll do that later.

love.

Friday, February 15, 2008

I'm not gonna write you a love song....

I'm in Georgia!!! This makes me very happy. The drive actually wasn't too bad. I was impressed with that.

Happy Valentine's Day too!!! Technically, EST wise...it's not Valentine's Day anymore. But I thought I would send my love out anyway...considering I was driving during most of Valentine's Day. : (

Tomorrow I will be heading to Warner Robins to see All Shook Up and hang out with people there. Then Saturday....well, let me just say...I'll probably be in Macon with people...and it'll be a gooooooooooood time. : )

I don't have a video to post today. I'll have one at some point.

And I won't have another post until Sunday probably because I didn't feel like dragging my Mac with me to GA.

LOVE!

Tuesday, February 12, 2008

I'm coooollllddddd.

It was an official snow day. The first one ever during these four years I've been at UE. I would not have wanted to go to class today anyway. It took me 2 hours to get the ice off of my car plus a few cuts and freaking COLD hands. haha. I need to invest in better gloves.

Now the only reason I ventured out into the snowy abyss is FREE PANCAKE DAY. Well, Josh, Sarah, and I went at around 6:30PM to get some. We get there, sit in a booth. The waitress asks for our order, and I ask about the free pancakes. She gets this sad look on her face and tells us they stopped serving at 6:00PM. 6:00PM!!!!!! On the website, it said they would be serving free pancakes until 10:00PM. Grrrrr. I was soo sad and disappointed and angry. I just wanted some damn free pancakes! But....we gave in and I ordered pancakes, hashbrowns, and eggs. BOOOOOOO. I'm still mad.

One highlight of the day was that I finished all my responses for Senior Sem and Environmental Science before 11:00PM. That's impressive. Although, there is a possibility we might not have our morning classes tomorrow.

I've been a bad person, and I haven't found any amusing new videos to put on here. : (

Alas! I must start packing for Georgia!! Leaving Thursday! Yay!

Monday, February 11, 2008

SNOW!

Lots of it.

When I went to Environmental Science, it wasn't snowing. After class, it was. I swear there's already 2 inches on the ground.

And I have to drive home in that. : (

HAPPY COMO!!!
Yay for being on cleaning crew. When I went for my first hour of Como work, there were a bunch of seniors on cleaning crew: Brendan, Sarah, Erika, Patrick, Taylor, Matt, Clay, and me. So, Lank got us together to clean the May Studio and the Rehearsal Room. We lovingly dubbed ourselves Senior Cleaning Crew '08! And we are seeking revenge on Chris Minnick for putting us on cleaning crew. It's like being placed at the kids table at Thanksgiving. Shitty. ha. Although the upside is that we didn't do much and were done in like 20 minutes. ha.

Psychology is looming over my head. Tuesday at 1:15PM will not be pleasant.

I want to find some fun, new music...anyone have any suggestions of what I should listen to??

Sunday, February 10, 2008

Lazy Sunday...

Boy was I tired this morning. I probably shouldn't have had that whole bottle of wine last night. But last night was pretty entertaining. Winter Whisperrrrsssssss. ha.

Tonight is a good night for television. A new Brothers and Sisters episode shows at 9PM, and Mark and Olly: Living with the Mek premieres on the Travel Channel. I'm pumped. Yeah...I'm that girl. I love tv.

Unfortunately, my day has not been extremely entertaining. If there's something you want me to talk about let me know.

winter whispersssss....

Thank you Saturday night.

Yay for being drunk and going to Winter Whispers (a really lame version of college prom).

And yay for being drunk and still dominating at Guitar Hero III. Take that Taylor Campbell!!!

I love drinking a whole bottle of wine...by myself...hahaah.

Okay....I need to drink some water and eat some food before passing out.

Unfortunately...no video today. But there will be one tomorrow!

Tomorrow I MUST DO WORK.

love to all.

Friday, February 8, 2008

Ohh Fridays.

TGIF everyone!

Another week down. It feels good, though next week is gonna kick me in the butt. It's Company Monday, and I'm on cleaning crew...AGAIN. I still cannot believe that Scapin opens next week. Weird. I have a hella hard Psychology test on Tuesday, and I bet my hour long voice lesson is probably going to be brutal.

It will be just fine because on Thursday at 1:00PM...I will be driving to Georgia! Yay! I'll be heading to Warner Robins to see All Shook Up and to get crunk with all my Warner Robins/Macon friends. Plus, I'm looking forward to a free lunch with mom and dad on Friday. Then maybe an adventure to Savannah or Atlanta...I haven't decided. Savannah's currently winning. Hopefully Josh will go on this adventure with me...he is scheduled to work on Thursday. Boo.

No one is doing anything tonight which is why I'm sitting at home at 10:50PM. That's okay though because I feel that tomorrow will be a good night.

I watched the movie Gone Baby Gone the other night. I suggest everyone go and rent it. The screenplay is goooood. Nice job Ben Affleck. And I heard that the same guy who wrote Mystic River wrote Gone Baby Gone. I LOVED Mystic River.

Your video clip for today is what I like to call Human Tetris. You may have seen this before. We should try this drunk. I bet it would be pretty funny. Thank you Japan for giving us awesome game shows. heh.

A tout a l'heure!

Should I go to Dollar Beer?

I am so proud of myself today. I actually got off my ass and was super productive today.

The day started off with my voice lesson at noon. I thought it was going to be horrible. But, I pushed through my congestion and did pretty well. Geissinger was impressed with my breath control today and my resonance. I'll be a singing beast in no time. Especially when I have an hour long lesson with her next week (because I missed last week).

Then it was off to lunch and Child and Adolescent Psychology. That class is the bane of my existence every Tuesday and Thursday at 1:15PM. BORING AS HELL. Therefore, I bring my laptop and check my facebook and myspace all the time. But today...today was good. We talked about pregnancy and birth. Felton kept cracking jokes and talking about how huge his wife got when she was pregnant. She is now a svelte 106 pounds. Can you believe that a 50+ year old lady who is 106 pounds after having 5 kids! Shit. That made today entertaining...and now I am racking my brain wondering why I want to have kids and have a small human pop out of my hoo-hah. *sigh*

Oh! I finally finished all the recordings for Dark of the Moon tonight. The cast will have a good laugh listening to my piano playing and singing, I'm sure. So will Lank.

Kenny and Jonathan called from thespian conference. That made me happy, but I'm also jealous because I would rather be there than here...being cold and taking class. They also told me that my name is in the program. YESSSSSS. That's right, I am sooo cool.

And now I'm here....writing this. Josh should be here about now. We're gonna hang out before picking up Heath from work. So we'll probably not go to Dollar Beer.

Your video of the day.....

Bonsoir!

Happy Hump Day!

It sure feels like a hump day. Blah blah blah. And it's back to being cold and rainy. LAME is what I say!

Though having a roommate bust into the apartment slightly inebriated is highly entertaining...

I did discover the wonderfulness of Garageband today, though. For Dark of the Moon, I have to create a CD with the songs from the back of the script...meaning I have to go play and sing these songs and record them. haha. Me playing the piano and singing...I am NO Alicia Keys. But it was fun because I got to explore the application, and it's super cool. Plus, I can make my own Podcasts whenever I want. Yessssssss.

So the recordings are coming along, and I sound like S-H-I-T. But that's okay. I am not up to par lately because I'm laying the smackdown on the remnants of my cold. No more sore throat! At least I have my voice lesson tomorrow, so when I do record, I'll sound good.

Oh! I hope you watched Project Runway tonight. Thank GOD Ricky is gone. And yes to WWE wrestlers. hahaha. After every episode, I want to be best friends with Christian even more. I love that little boy! FIERCE.

This is important, and I had to put it near the end of this post!! The line-up for Bonnaroo 2008 is out AND tickets go on sale next weekend! AHHHH! I would love to go. Go look at the line up at www.bonnaroo.com. GLORIOUS.

Maybe this should be a regular thing...but I want to share yet another video, that I absolutely love. It's from Zach Galifianakis. Awesome.

Adieu!

Well hello Super Tuesday!

Happy Fat Tuesday and Super Tuesday. I hope you are either watching political pundits discussing who is winning what state or DRUNK for Mardi Gras. One is a little more exciting than the other, but you know.

I am spending my rainy night watching CNN and playing some Guitar Hero III. Yes, yes...I am being lame and nerdy, but I accept that. Plus, I don't want to go out into what I know is a disaster zone. Thank you tornado warnings, severe thunderstorms, lightning, and thunder...you scared the shit out of me at 5AM this morning. It's like Thor decided to come out and play...or somebody really pissed off God today.

But I digress.

I hope everyone voted. Obama took Georgia...which made me a little sad. I was crossing my fingers for Hillary, but alas! We shall see how everything pans out!

On another note, while being bored and taking a break after playing Through The Fire and Flames, I rediscovered the beauty that is "Rejected." That lovely 9 minute cartoon by Don Hertzfeldt. I forgot how brilliant it was. With lines like "I am a banana!" and "I'm feeling fat and sassy!" who couldn't love it? But anyways...I thought I should share this masterpiece today.

And with that I leave you. Hopefully, no tornado sweeps you away.

Could Spring come now please?

It was in the 60's today. I don't like it when Spring decides to say hello for a day, then decides to be 30 degrees outside the next day. When trying to recover from the plague, this does not help.

So Heath got a job at Blockbuster...which means...free movie and video game rentals. Our apartment is all set. Movies to watch all the time AND new games to play on the Wii. Now, if only we had another guitar for Guitar Hero III, then it would be amazing.

This afternoon I received a voicemail from my students saying that they miss me. You can call me lame, but it made my day. Hearing kids in the background yelling Miss Cabatingaaaaaan is priceless. February 14 can't come soon enough. I just want to be driving down to Warner Robins right now! I miss them so.

On another note, Super Tuesday is tomorrow! I'm very excited to see how that all pans out.

Hopefully tomorrow brings some excitement and some warm weather...maybe?? please??

How I love thee....Soup or Bowl?

Superbowl Sunday has always been my favorite Sunday of the year. What could be better than eating gratuitous amounts of chips, hot dogs, hamburgers, ice cream and drinking lots o' beer and coke? I sadly only did the eating and drinking of coke...no beer. : (

Plus, the Giants won which put a huge smile on my face. In your face Tom Brady! I must admit, I do love those Manning boys. Peyton and the Colts last year, now Eli and the Giants. Glorious, Glorious.

I was disappointed however with the Superbowl ads. Many of them left me feeling very blah. Some were very good, though. My two favorites were the Doritos commercial with the mousetrap and the Firestone tire commercial with the squirrel. What do you think?

And have you seen the Paul Brogan Superbowl rap?? Check that out. It's pretty funny. I'm impressed with his rapping skillzzzzz.

Alright! That is it. My first post on my new blog. NICE.  Good night to all and have a good tomorrow!!
